Kyla Dufresne: Inspiring Women Through Business with Foxy Box

For Kyla Dufresne, success goes beyond financial gain—it’s about bringing happiness to others, especially women. As the founder of Foxy Box, Kyla has set her sights on making a global impact by empowering women and encouraging them to feel confident in their bodies. Through Foxy Box, Kyla is creating opportunities for women to be educated about their bodies while providing a service that fosters self-confidence. Her ultimate mission is to spread this empowerment and education worldwide.

Building the Foundation of Foxy Box

Kyla’s entrepreneurial journey began long before Foxy Box, with her clothing brand, Lyrik. She started selling t-shirts at music festivals and in a few local stores, and it was during this time that her passion for business really began to flourish. While the clothing line didn’t take off as she’d hoped, the experience ignited her desire to create something more meaningful and scalable.

Reflecting on her early ventures, Kyla says, “I quickly realized that the harder I worked, the more I could accomplish and the more rewards I could reap. I wanted to put in the effort and see the results in something I could call my own, rather than dedicating my energy to someone else’s vision.”

In 2012, Kyla launched Foxy Box with the goal of empowering women and creating a brand that could be franchised and expanded globally. Her dream was to make Foxy Box a household name and a place where women could come to feel good about themselves. With determination and perseverance, the company now has multiple locations across British Columbia and continues to expand.

Kyla explains, “Foxy Box was born out of my deep desire to create better opportunities, not just for myself, but for the people around me. I’ve always admired business owners, and now that I have the chance to run my own business, I want to inspire other women to chase their dreams just like I did.”

Overcoming Challenges and Learning from Failure

Kyla’s journey has not been without its challenges. Like many entrepreneurs, she faced significant obstacles along the way. One of the biggest hurdles was entering the world of franchising without much prior knowledge. The company’s first attempt at franchising didn’t go as planned, but Kyla took this failure as an opportunity to learn and grow.

She explains, “I didn’t have the experience or the systems in place at first, and that led to some missteps. But I wasn’t going to give up. Instead, I hired a franchise coach, and over the course of a year, we worked to streamline everything from construction processes to marketing strategies and training curriculums. Now, we have a system in place that’s designed for growth and consistency, and we’re fully prepared to support our franchise partners.”

Kyla has faced other challenges as well, but she views each one as a stepping stone toward becoming a stronger leader and a better business owner. “Every single challenge I’ve faced has taught me something valuable—not just about running a business, but about myself and life in general. I’m grateful for the bumps in the road because they’ve made me more resilient and better equipped to lead Foxy Box into the future.”

Empowering Women Through Foxy Box

At its core, Foxy Box isn’t just about hair removal—it’s about creating a movement to empower women. The company provides a unique waxing and laser hair removal experience that’s quick, effective, and fun. More importantly, Foxy Box aims to help women feel powerful in their bodies.

Kyla shares, “We’re on a mission to inspire and empower women to celebrate their uniqueness and feel confident in their own skin. We want every woman who walks through our doors to leave feeling energized, empowered, and ready to take on the world.”

Foxy Box’s success is built on three core principles: total convenience, unmatched consistency, and delivering the best hair removal experience in the market. Kyla and her team have worked hard to define what the brand stands for and how they want clients to feel when they interact with Foxy Box. “We have a very clear vision of who we are as a brand and what we want to achieve. Our focus is always on creating a positive environment for both our clients and our team members.”

Scaling Through Franchising

Kyla’s long-term goal for Foxy Box is to bring the brand to women all over the world. To do that, she’s focused on expanding through franchising. What started as two corporate-owned locations has now grown to six locations, with more planned in the near future.

The decision to franchise was driven by Kyla’s desire to create a business that could grow while maintaining its unique culture and high standards. She believes Foxy Box offers a fantastic investment opportunity for franchisees, backed by a strong return on investment (ROI) and a model that’s both financially sound and operationally simple.

“Our franchise model is designed to be easy to replicate,” Kyla explains. “We’ve worked hard to ensure that everything is systemized and scalable, from our processes to our customer experience. We have a proven formula for success, and we’re ready to bring that to new markets across Canada and beyond.”

The company’s business model is also designed with a focus on creating a fulfilling work environment for franchisees and their staff. By keeping operations straightforward and efficient, Foxy Box is able to offer excellent support to franchise owners while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for customers.

Leading the Foxy Box Movement

As the founder of Foxy Box, Kyla wears many hats, from innovating new ideas to supporting her franchisees in their journey to success. For Kyla, leadership is about surrounding herself with a talented team, enjoying the work, and celebrating every achievement along the way—no matter how big or small.

“I always try to lead with positivity and passion,” Kyla shares. “My goal is to foster a work environment where people feel excited to come to work and are motivated to contribute to our shared success. I believe in celebrating every win, whether it’s opening a new franchise location or getting great feedback from a client.”

A Vision for the Future

Kyla has big plans for the future of Foxy Box. In addition to expanding the brand across Canada and into the United States, she’s also working on launching the Foxy Foundation, a charitable organization aimed at giving back to the community.

She explains, “I want to create opportunities to make a real impact, not just through our services, but through initiatives that support women and families. The Foxy Foundation is something I’ve been dreaming of for a while, and I can’t wait to see it come to life.”

As Foxy Box continues to grow, Kyla remains committed to empowering women and creating a positive, fulfilling work environment for her team. Her vision for the future is one of thoughtful, strategic growth that prioritizes both the well-being of her employees and the happiness of her clients.

“Ultimately, I want to create meaningful employment for women all over the world,” Kyla concludes. “Whether it’s through our services, our franchise opportunities, or the Foxy Foundation, my goal is to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”

In the end, Kyla’s journey with Foxy Box is more than just a business story—it’s a story of resilience, empowerment, and the drive to create a better world for women everywhere. With her sights set on global expansion and a deep commitment to her mission, Kyla Dufresne is truly a leader to watch in the years to come
